Collaborating organizations
Take Root collaborates with a variety of organizations to Help amplify our impact on our community
Center for Success
Center for Success Network unites literacy and community to empower students in the journey of education. They value growth, diversity, community, and connection, and believe these values provide a strong foundation for building an equitable space where their team, students, families, volunteers, and community are valued, respected, and supported.
Take Root has partnered with Center for Success for the last two years, teaching students creative movement through our Arts Education Outreach Program. With grants provided by the Village Club and Eagles for Children, we are able to continue our work with Center for Success another year, including a new summer camp partnership happening July 2024.
Eagles for Children
Eagles for Children is a nonprofit organization that uses a simple, fun and engaging program at private golf clubs to raise funds to support local children's charities that benefit disadvantaged children.
Take Root is grateful for Eagles for Children's support of our Art's Education Impact programs. Grants provided by Eagles for Children have helped add to our sessions at Center for Success and opened the door for a new partnership this summer with Micah 6 and their summer camp.
Gilda's Club Metro Detroit
Gilda’s Club is a place where men, women and children whose lives have been touched by cancer, as well as their families and friends can feel they are part of a welcoming community of support. Since 1998, more than 10,000 individuals and families have been impacted by the organization.
Take Root partners with Gilda's Club Detroit for our Soulful Steps class: a movement class that welcomes people battling cancer at any point in their journey. The Soulful Steps class takes place on the fourth Monday of every month, and can be taken both in person and virtually.
The Kirk Gibson Foundation
The Kirk Gibson Foundation expanded its mission to include Parkinson's awareness and improving the quality of life for people battling the degenerative disease, after Kirk Gibson's own Parkinson's diagnosis in 2015.
Take Root received a grant from the Kirk Gibson Foundation to support our new Dance for Parkinson's classes at Farmington Family YMCA and Durfee Innovation Society in Detroit. We are honored to have the support of the Kirk Gibson Foundation and look forward to working with them in the future.
Micah 6
Each year Micah 6 grows thousands of pounds of produce for their community, spends summers connecting neighborhood kids to amazing programs, and works hard to serve their community and neighbors in many different ways.
Take Root is partnering with Micah 6 to introduce our movement and music enrichment programs to their summer camp. With funding from The Village Club and Eagles for Children, we are happy to enter this new partnership with Micah 6 and reach a new community.
