Take Root has been chosen to receive a 2017 University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance Emerging Artist Award in Dance!
The Emerging Artist Awards recognize University of Michigan SMTD graduates from within the past 15 years who have made a significant contribution to their artistic field. Winners from each of three categories (music, theatre, and dance) are awarded annually.

Take Root Company Director Ali Woerner has been nominated for the 2016 Governor's Fitness Award in the Extraordinary Event category due to their work with Dance for Parkinson's Disease.

Because of her influence in the community, Ali Woerner has been declared the winner of the 2016 Oakland County Executive’s Elite 40 Under 40! Ali was honored for her service to the community in her leadership roles at Oakland University, Take Root, and Dance for Parkinson's Disease classes.
